Making peer-to-peer item rentals a reality for all.
At Gaifong, we’re creating a completely new lifestyle based on renting, rather than buying. We imagine a more abundant future for our children: focused on sharing – not hoarding. In one with the world.
Gaifong means ‘neighbours’ in Cantonese, and is inspired by the “what’s mine is yours” attitude of our grandparents’ generation.
It all started one day in 2014, on a hot summer’s day in Hong Kong. We started this project with about 25 friends: each had to list in a spreadsheet all the items they had that they were willing to share with others. Turns out, each of us has so much to contribute. So much that others can use.
We continued to work day and night, prototype after prototype, to come up with the best platform for people to share. Step by step, the Gaifong mobile app and websites were born. Today, no matter where you in the world, you can join this global movement.
Just look around your home, and think of the thousands of possibilities that lie within.
